Cape Dory 33 Cutter built at a scale of 3/4 inch = 1 foot

This model is mounted on a mahogany board finished in rubbed effect varnish.  The overall length of the hull is 24.75".  I drew the lines for this model from pictures of a Cape Dory 33 I took at my local boat yard.  Details are based on pictures of the actual boat.  This is an early (1980) Cape Dory 33 without the bow sprit or the T-cockpit.  All wood on the model is gloss varnished teak.  This picture also shows the custom vinyl name graphics I had made to match the font on the boat.  Although you can't see it in this picture, the hail is on the stern.

This picture shows the cockpit detail.  Note the wheel with its gray elk hide cover, auto-pilot drive ring and attachment sprocket for wind vane control lines.  The winch is a bronze Lewmar 40ST.  You can also see the traveller recessed into the cockpit.

This midships view shows the varnished teak toe rail with integral bronze cleat.  You can see the chain plates just forward of the cleat.  Note the contrast painted non-skid areas on the deck.  On the cabin top you can see the companionway slide and storm hood, aluminum hatches, dorade vent and bronze cowl, teak hand rail and the stub mast.

Here is the bow view which shows the CQR 35 anchor on its roller with chain led to the bronze hawse pipe.  You can also see the chain plate for the inner forestay and the mooring cleat and chock.
