Construction Details
Jan 17, 08 - I started work on this model two days ago. The first day I scaled the lines and cut out and laminated the back plane. Yesterday I cut out the station molds, glued them to the back plane, installed the deck and put the shear and waterline planks on the model. Today I finished planking the model down to the waterline and cut the transom in.
Jan 23, 09 - Since my last update I have now finished planking the hull. I have also fiberglassed the deck and laminated the cherry mounting board. Over the next week I will finish fiberglassing the model and start the filling/fairing/priming process. I will also chamfer the edges of the mounting board and start varnishing it.
Jan 28, 09 - I have now finished fiberglassing the model. I have also cut the cherry mounting board to its final shape and chamferred its edges. After I took this picture I started the filling/fairing/priming process, which will take 4-5 days to complete.

Jan 31, 09 - Yesterday I out the first coats of primer on the model. The picture shows the model today after that paint dried. Today I spot filled a few imperfections on the model. I also put the next to the last coat of varnish on the mounting board. Tomorrow I will sand the model down and reprime it. I expect to put the final coat of varnish on the mounting board on Monday, February 2.
