July 18, 08 - I got started on the model a few days ago. Since then I have planked the hull down to the waterline.
July 22, 08 - The model is now planked down to the waterline. The next phase is to build the keel and then fiberglass the hull.
Aug. 4, 08 - I have now finished fiberglassing the hull and have put the first coats of primer paint above and below the waterline. From here I will spot fair the hull and then start painting the topsides before I build the cockpit and cabin house.
Aug 10, 08 - I have now finished spot fairing the hull and have put the first coat of topsides paint on. The next steps are to build the cabin house and cockpit and to continue putting build coats on the topsides.
Aug. 19, 08 - Todat I finished roughing in the cabin house and cockpit. Next I will fill the seams on the cabin house and continue painting the topsides.
Sept. 21, 08 - The cabin house is now finished. I have also painted the bottom, put the boot stripe on and buffed out the topsides paint. I will repaint the boot stripe to get it straighter and then start detailing the model.
Oct. 6, 08 - Since my last update I have made up and varnished the mahogany mounting board. Today I mounted the model, installed the toe rail, cove stripe and boat name and put the ports on.
Oct. 13, 08 - As of today I have finished installing all the on-deck wood. I have also machined the winches and installed the boom and vang. The next steps are to add the vang tackle and the main sheet. After that I will build and install the pedestal and then move on to final detailing.
October 17, 08 - The model is now finished except for the main sheet, vang tackle, anchor, bow and stern cleats and some details on the boom
