This model is Columbia 9.6. The model is being built from original lines. The model is being built to an overall length of 25". It will be mounted on a gloss varnished cherry board. I started work on this model last weekend. I will have the hull planked and fiberglassed by the end of the week.
The hull is now fully planked. I have also fiberglassed the deck Right after I took this picture I fiberglassed the hull proper. Tomorrow I will glass the transom and the bottom of the keel. I will start the filling/fairing/paint process on Wednesday.
I have now finished the major filling and fairing and have started painting the model. The picture above shows the model after the first coats of primer paint. The model is sitting on the cherry mounting board (2 coats of varnish so far).
