31.4" LOA (1"=1')
This model is Taartan 31. The model was built from the original lines drawings supplied by Tartan Yachts. The model is built to a scale of 1"=1' and is 31.4" long. It is mounted on a stained oak board finished in satin varnish.
June 6, 2007 - Two days ago I cut out and fiberglassed the backplane for this model. Yesterday I cut out the station frames, attached them to the backplane, installed the deck and the waterline and shear planks. Today I planked the model down to the waterline and cut in the transom. Over the next few days I will finish planking the model and then start fiberglassing the hull.
June 27, 07 - I have niow finished planking the model as well as staining and starting to varnish the mounting board. The next step is to fiberglass the hull in preparation for painting.
